Title Image
For thousands of years, humans have relied upon plants for clothing, medicine, food and shelter. This tour focuses on some of the plants used medicinally today in the Denver area.

We polled members of Denver’s Spanish-speaking community to see which plants they frequently use for home remedies. This tour highlights ten of the plants that were mentioned most often that are also grown at the Gardens. All of these plants are commonly found in Latin American markets here and across the Spanish-speaking world. To learn more about herbal medicine, check out the Herbalism Certificate Program offered by the Gardens.

Caution: This tour is not intended to diagnose or treat diseases or medical conditions. Individuals can have unknown allergic reactions and/or sensitivity to plants and may have pre-existing conditions that can be adversely affected by herbal treatments. It is always a good idea to consult your doctor before using herbal remedies, especially if you use prescription medicines.
