Denver Botanic Gardens Gardens Navigator |
An extensive waterway system meanders through Denver Botanic Gardens, showcasing over 150 different types waterlilies (Nymphaea), lotus (Nelumbo) and cattails (Typha) which have made the Gardens' aquatic collection famous. At the center of the woven water pathways is the Monet Pool. Swirls of waterlily pads and blossoms imitate the serene impression that has made French artist Claude Monet so beloved. The exotic Victoria amazonica water platter, a native of the Amazon River, is a late summer attraction when it may be seen flowering at night. Watch for frogs, turtles and ducks that frequent the Water Gardens.
