The historical Hildebrand Ranch house is surrounded by multiple annual gardens, which are the largest on site. These gardens are designed with edible, native and heirloom plants to reflect the plants that could have been used when pioneers first settled Colorado.

These gardens include:

• Horticultural therapy beds, which allow all ages and abilities to utilize all five senses of exploration.


• An annual herb garden, planted and maintained by the Colorado Herb Guild.


• Colton Sell Memorial Woodshed Garden, which was funded by and is planted annually by the Sell family.


• The Hildebrand Ranch House front yard garden, which includes heirloom annuals, as well as a lilac collection left from 1965 by the original Hildebrand family.


• The annual shade bed, located next to the Deer Creek restoration area, which provides relief from the heat.
