Probablemente se recolectó en el condado de Pueblo o, aunque menos probable, en los condados de Otero o Las Ánimas o en Nuevo México (254) a finales de julio o principios de agosto. Esta especie tiene llamativas flores de color rosa a magenta que se abren en la tarde. Se ha vuelto más común usarlas en los paisajes secos del oeste y atraen mariposas y colibríes. |
