This plant features intensely aromatic, lacy foliage adorned with showy white flowers from July to August. It can make a formal mound with some light pruning. It produces attractive seed heads that persist into winter. It requires moderate watering when first planted but is xeric once established. Evergreen in mild climates. This is a good shrub for a dry border, foundation planting or screen. 3,000-10,000 feet. Zones 4 - 6 |
| BOTANICAL DESCRIPTION | Branches erect, glandular-lanuginose, glutinous when young, balsamic-aromatic. Leaves alternate, bipinnate, oblong-lanceolate, lanuginose; stipules present, entire; calyx desely covered with tufted pubescence. Petals 5, rounded. Fruit of 5 coriaceous follicles, seeded; seeds yellow, terete, acute at both ends. |
