Aquilegia - Eagle; eagles' claw
skinneri Syringa x skinneri was named for Frank Leith Skinner, 1882-1967, Scottish born Canadian plant breeder and horticulturist, Frank Skinner Arboretum and Trail, at Dropmore, Manitoba, are also named for him.

-many orchids are named for George Ure Skinner, 1804-1867, British merchant who became a naturalist in Guatemala, collected many orchids, which he sent to England.
