The two prairie sections east of the Green Farm Barn represent shortgrass and tallgrass prairie ecosystems. A blend of grasses and wildflowers bloom in waves throughout the growing season. They give a glimpse into the beautiful arrangements that exist in natural prairies and what much of the Front Range might have looked like prior to westward expansion. Water, fire and disturbance drive the changes from year to year in this garden.
